A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE
Lewis Alston served in the U.S. Marines at the age of 17 as a reconnaissance scout. He served in the Vietnam War for one year. When returning home from his time in combat, he had difficulty controlling his anger, experienced sleep deprivation, and could not maintain his focus. To soothe the pain, he turned to and eventually became addicted to drugs and alcohol. He lost his family, friends, and basically himself. In 1985 he asked God's help in his recovery. In return, he made a covenant that if his life was spared, he would spend his time helping veterans and their families. Lewis talks from the heart about his experiences with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and drug/alcohol recovery. You'll find this talk enlightening, educational, but most of all, inspiring.-
