Qualifications for Members
- Any person, 21-years of age or older, is eligible to become a member of the Lancaster County Speakers Bureau.
- To be approved as a Bureau speech, a talk must . . .
A. be a topic which will have general audience appeal,
B. be approximately 30 minutes in length,
C. be free from self-promotion and/or advertisement of a business venture of any type,
D. not be for the purpose of soliciting funds or support for any individual, group, or organization (an exception may be made for "not-for-profit" entities).
- Each speaker shall deliver his/her proposed speech before a scheduled audition session. Such speech must be approved by the Bureau members in attendence.
- Exceptions to the above qualifications must have the unanimous approval of the six members of the Executive Committee of the Bureau.
- In an effort to keep Bureau offerings current and of interest to prospective audiences, any member who has not delivered at least one Bureau speech to a legitmate audience over a period of three consecutive years shall not be listed in the next publication of approved speeches unless a new talk has been approved by the Executive Board.
